Stable work, wherever you start from.
Stead Fast Staffing runs two employment programs built around one idea: the right placement, at the right moment, changes what happens next. We help people leaving unsafe homes find income and footing in a new city, and we help schools fill classrooms the moment a teacher is out.
Choose the program that fits what brought you here.
Program one
Survivor Employment & Relocation
For people leaving a domestic violence situation, we coordinate a confidential move and line up work before you arrive — so the new city isn't just safer, it's livable. Every case is handled one-to-one and nothing is shared with a former household member.
Confidential relocation planning
We help identify a safe destination, coordinate the logistics of the move, and keep your new address and contact details out of shared or discoverable records where possible.
Job placement before you arrive
Our employment team lines up interviews in your destination city ahead of the move, in fields matched to your experience — so you're not job-hunting on top of everything else.
First 90 days of support
A caseworker checks in through your first months of work — covering transportation, documentation, and anything that puts a new job at risk.
If you're in immediate danger, call 911. For 24/7 support, the National Domestic Violence Hotline is 1-800-799-7233.
Program two
Traveling Substitute Staffing
Schools call us the morning a teacher is out sick, on leave, or short-notice unavailable — and we place a qualified substitute, often the same day. Our roster travels across districts, so coverage isn't limited to whoever lives nearby.
Same-day and next-day fill
Request coverage through our line before 7am and we'll confirm a substitute before first period, matched to grade level and subject where possible.
A roster that travels
Substitutes are cleared to work across a multi-district region, so a shortage in one town draws on a much wider bench than a single school's list.
Vetted and credential-checked
Every substitute clears a background check and credential verification before their first placement, kept current for as long as they're active with us.
How a placement happens
The same four steps, run two different ways.
You reach out
By phone, form, or a quiet message during the workday — however is safest or easiest for you.
We match
A caseworker or staffing coordinator reviews what you need and who on our side fits it.
We place
An interview is scheduled, or a substitute is confirmed and briefed — most often within a day.
We stay in the loop
Follow-up continues through the first placement and beyond, so problems get caught early.
Not sure which is yours
Two programs, run by the same team.
Survivor Employment & Relocation is for you if —
- You're planning to leave, or have left, an unsafe home
- You need work lined up in a new city, not just a plane ticket
- You want a single caseworker, not a new intake every call
- Confidentiality of your new address matters
Traveling Substitute Staffing is for you if —
- You're a school or district that needs coverage on short notice
- You're a certified teacher open to varied, flexible placements
- Your current sub list runs out before the week does
- You'd rather make one call than chase five separate subs
Why one team runs both.
Stead Fast Staffing started as a relocation service for domestic violence survivors, built by caseworkers who kept running into the same wall: a safe new city is only half a plan without income in it. Placing people into local jobs meant building real relationships with employers — and once those employer relationships existed, schools facing substitute shortages became a natural second program to run through the same staffing infrastructure.
The two programs share a back office, not a caseload. Survivor cases are never visible to school-side staff, and school placements never touch survivor records. What they share is a belief that a good placement, made quickly, is one of the most stabilizing things you can hand someone.
Reach the right team.
